Science Static Electricity

Learning about static electricity!
The students learned about static electricity today. They learned that if you create a build up of positive and negative charges you will get static electricity.
Creating an induced charge to create static electricity.
It was a crazy hair day in science! Electrons and Protons are definitely attracted to each other!

Reading Fluency

Our class continually works on reading fluency. It is an important foundation for the students.
Fluency is defined as the ability to read with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. In order to understand what they read, children must be able to read fluently whether they are reading aloud or silently. When reading aloud, fluent readers read in phrases and add intonation appropriately.

I've included the link to an article that Timothy Rasinski wrote about reading fluency that all educators should read titled, Creating Fluent Readers A growing body of evidence points to reading fluency as an important factor in student reading success.
